A new strategy being floated for the Republicans
I think I have heard it all now. Today on Ben Merens' show on Wisconsin Public Radio one of his guests was Hugh Hewitt, professor of law, Chapman University Law School. He is the author, “Painting the Map Red: The Fight to Create a Permanent Republican Majority.”
Hewitt seems to be floating a new campaign strategy for the Republicans for this fall when they have to try to get elected after creating the largest deficit we have ever seen. He actually claimed that the deficit is the result of Democrats not letting the Republicans cut entitlement programs.
I was laughing so hard I probably should have pulled over.
Have you ever heard of such a powerful minority in a Congress? Yes, the Democrats are the ones dictating the votes in Congress these days. Never mind that the Republicans control both chambers with votes to spare. Oh and which party passed an EXPANSION of Medicare last session? A poorly done one, but an expansion nonetheless.
Think Rep. Mark Green is going to take this one out for a spin in the governor's race? Did Rep. Tammy Baldwin make Rep. Mark Green take all the votes that spent far more money than was in the federal treasury? Or was it Rep. Dave Obey? He is a crafty one.
I can't wait to hear the explanations.
