County Execs have plenty of company

Lest anyone think the Republican County Executives are the only ones saying they want to cut taxes and limit government spending but are doing the opposite or blaming others, check out Rep. Stephen Freese's questionnaire from Project Vote Smart here.

In the budget, spending and tax issue area they ask candidates to indicate the funding levels they will support. Mr. Freese wants to decrease four types of taxes and eliminate two others completely. But he couldn't come up with a single category of funding that he would decrease much less actual spending cuts.

He wants to increase funding for health care, law enforcement and transportation and greatly increase funding for higher education. The rest he would like to maintain current funding levels.

I guess he thinks the state of Wisconsin should just run as far into the red as possible. Or, he's hoping his voters will not notice.
