The United Way of Dane County?

The Patriot Act is forcing non-profits to come up with all sorts of red tap to make sure they are in compliance with the goals of that act. The United Way of Dane County sent out a statement saying they don't support terrorism financially to its 162 member agencies and asked they to sign it and send it back or they won't get their funding.

Yes I know signing it is a no-brainer but is forcing local non-profits to spend money doing this really worth it? Wasn't supporting terrorist groups before the Patriot Act already illegal? Do we really think we are going to catch terrorists this way?
