Smoking ban advice

The Appleton Post-Crescent has some good advice for the bar owners in Appleton that are unhappy having a smoking ban in their city while the surrounding communities do not have one. The paper is encouraging them to work with the anti-smoking forces to pass a regional or statewide ban on smoking indoors in public places.

There is a bill to address this issue and it is authored by a Republican, Rep. Al Ott (R-Forest Junction). The bar owners in Appleton and in other areas with a ban should work to increase the number of cosponsors and so Rep. Ott can get his leadership to schedule the bill.

You can find the Post-Crescent editorial here.
