TPA hearing tomorrow
It will be interesting to see how the open hearing for the so-called Taxpayer Protection Amendment (TPA) goes tomorrow.
Rep. Frank Lasee, a Republican that wants the TPA or something like TABOR passed so badly he has an entire website devoted to it, has been conducting meetings about the TPA where he pretty much spends the time outlining the problems with it.
Someone at a recent meeting ask Lasee if the TPA was brought to the floor as it is right now, would he vote for it? He ducked the question by saying it's a "difficult choice."
If the biggest advocate of a TABOR like amendment to the constitution can't publicly commit to voting for the TPA, it's no wonder the Senate Republicans are trying to hold some of the meetings out of the spotlight on this proposal.
Should be a fun day for them at the public meeting tomorrow.
